Oct. 12, 2016 – The Region Nine Development Commission held an open house at Turner Hall Wednesday, to honor three retiring commissioners: Brown County Commissioner Jim Berg, Township Supervisor Fredrick Juni and Sleepy Eye Mayor Jim Broich.

Madelia Awarded $100,000 from U.S. EDA

Washington, DC – Following the February 3rd fire in Madelia, the City of Madelia and Region Nine Development Commission worked together to apply for a $100,000 technical assistance grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).

Region Nine Awarded NADO Innovation Award for the Third Year

WASHINGTON, DC – Region Nine Development Commission, based in Mankato, Minnesota, will be awarded the 2016 Innovation Award from the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) Research Foundation for Creating a Dementia Friendly Community. 

Solar Garden Info Meetings Set

Aug. 12, 2016 – With mammoth solar arrays popping up in south central Minnesota and more being planned, two organizations have scheduled workshops aimed at shining light on the opportunities the community solar gardens present.

May 11, 2016 – At 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 16, the Mankato/North Mankato ACT on Alzheimer’s team, dressed in purple attire, will be hitting the streets of North Riverfront Drive, Mankato and Belgrade Avenue, North Mankato to encourage local businesses to become more dementia friendly.
